Katie Sheridan Graham

Katie Sheridan Graham joined the NC State academic support staff in 2004.  Graham’s responsibilities include oversight of Case Academic Center and staff which provide academic support services to all NC State student-athletes.  Graham also serves as the department’s liaison to the admissions office and leads the APR and GSR collection and reporting process.  Prior to Graham’s current role of assistant dean and director, she served as associate director and head football academic coordinator.  Graham worked with football and women’s golf student-athletes for ten years; in that role she was responsible for coordinating academic support plans, monitoring NC State and NCAA eligibility, and assisting with recruiting and communicating with the coaching staff.  Graham also helped to develop NC State’s Reconnect Program for former student-athletes who return to school to finish their undergraduate degree.  Graham earned her bachelor’s degree from NC State in business administration in 2003.  While earning her undergraduate degree, she competed on the NC State swimming and diving team and served as team captain her senior season. Graham also received her Master of Education in counseling from NC State in 2005.  She is an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and is the former Chair of the Legislative Services Committee.  Graham is originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  She and her husband Daniel live in Holly Springs and welcomed their son, Colton, in October 2016.

Megan has been working at NC State since January of 2003. She currently advises women’s basketball and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. Megan attended St. Francis University, where she participated in volleyball for four years and graduated in 2000 with a degree in health science. Megan continued her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her master’s in student affairs in higher education. While getting her master’s degree, Megan served as a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh’s Academic Support Program.  After graduating in May of 2002, Megan worked at Florida State University as an assistant academic advisor for baseball, women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. She married Rob Albidrez in May 2006 and the couple has two children, Emma and Cruz.

Jody Moylon has been working at NC State since March 2001.  She currently oversees the Academic Skills Enhancement Program and advises the women’s and men’s track and cross country teams. Jody attended North Carolina State University, where she participated in soccer for four years and graduated in 1997 with a degree in parks recreation and tourism management.  Jody continued her education at North Carolina State University where she earned her master’s in parks recreation and tourism management. While getting her master’s degree, Jody served as a graduate assistant in the academic support program. Jody has been working in the academic support program since her graduation in 2001.

Maulies Pettaway joined NC State in the fall of 2015. He is the lead academic coordinator for the football team.  Maulies started his undergraduate career at Central Arizona College and completed it at the University of Southern Mississippi by obtaining his bachelor’s degree in sport administration in 2005.  Maulies continued his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned his master’s degree in education in 2008. Prior to joining the staff at NC State, Pettaway was an assistant director for football at the University of Mississippi. He also worked as an advisor for the men’s and women’s track and field teams at the University of South Carolina and with football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Maulies is a native of Sierra Vista, AZ and currently resides in Raleigh with his wife, Sara.

Tommy JOnes

Tommy Jones joined NC State in the fall of 2017. He is the academic coordinator for men’s basketball. Prior to coming to NC State and the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes, Tommy was an academic counselor at the University of Michigan (2008-17). While with Michigan, Tommy was responsible for providing academic support for men’s basketball program, men’s golf, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball, women’s golf, and women’s water polo programs. He also coordinated study and facility operations and program assistant team (P.A.T.). While at Michigan, Tommy led the men’s basketball team to seven consecutive NCAA Academic Performance Program Public Recognition Awards (2011-17). Prior to coming to Michigan and the Academic Success Program, Tommy was an academic advisor at the University of Miami (Fla.) (2006- 08). While with the Hurricanes, Tommy was responsible for providing academic support to underclassmen for football, women’s track and field and women’s cross country programs. He also coordinated the initial eligibility and admission process for student-athletes. Tommy graduated with sport management degree from the University of Michigan (2001). While in Ann Arbor, Tommy was a member of two Big Ten Championship Wolverine football teams (1998-2000), playing wide receiver. Jones also holds a master’s degree in counseling from Michigan State University (2006). Tommy loves spending time with his parents, sister, two younger brothers, two nephews, two nieces, and his dog Bella. Tommy enjoys cooking, reading, watching football, watching movies, riding motorcycles, relaxing at the beach, hanging out with friends, working out and being active. Tommy’s passion is working with young people to help them to maximize their abilities and pursue a life of excellence.

Maria Crockett has been at NC State since October 2005. She currently advises women’s golf, men’s soccer, men’s tennis and rifle.  Prior to her time at NC State, Maria spent two years as an athletic academic counselor at the University of Memphis, two years as a GA in athletic academic support at the University of Florida, and one year as an intern at the NCAA national office.  Maria earned her undergraduate degree in communication studies from UNC Greensboro and her M.Ed. in student personnel in higher education from the University of Florida.  Maria is a native of Tarboro, NC and married her husband Kevin in September 2012.

Taylor Mercado, academic coordinator, has been with ASPSA full time since September of 2018. She currently advises the freshmen on the football team and serves as the liaison for the Summer Start program. Taylor is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied political science and public policy. After undergrad, Taylor served as a college advisor in a high school in Charlotte, NC with the Carolina College Advising Corps where she assisted students in their college application processes. During this time, she discovered her desire to work with college students and decided to pursue her masters in higher education administration at NC State. During her master’s program, Taylor served as a residence director where she supervised resident advisors and was responsible for the building and its residents. It was also during this time that she began her work with ASPSA as a mentor and the intern for the Learning Enhancement Program. From 2017-2018, Taylor furthered her responsibilities with ASPSA as an assistant academic coordinator working with men’s basketball and other Olympic sports, and enjoys working with the ASPSA staff that has become like family over the past few years. Taylor was born and raised in New York and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jimmy Glassford

Jimmy Glassford started working at NC State in October 2018 as an academic coordinator working with football. Prior to joining the Wolfpack family, he worked at Mississippi State as an academic counselor serving the men’s and women’s tennis, baseball and women’s soccer team during his time there. Jimmy’s undergraduate degree is from North Greenville University in Sport Management and his master’s degree is from the University of South Carolina in Sport and Entertainment Management. Also, while at South Carolina he started as an intern in their athletic academic office serving a number of different athletic teams. Jimmy is married to his wife Jordan and they have two daughters, Maggie and Parker.

Jenny Womack joined the ASPSA staff as an academic coordinator in Fall 2012.  She currently advises baseball, women’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s golf.  Prior to working at NC State, she served as an academic coordinator for football, baseball, softball, golf, and tennis student-athletes at Elon University.  Before entering the academic support field, Jenny was a middle school educator in the Wake County Public School System for eight years. She completed her undergraduate degree in education at NC State, where she was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.  She returned to NC State in 2010 to complete her master’s degree in college counseling and student development while serving as a graduate assistant to ASPSA. She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).  Jenny is married to Scott Womack, and resides in Raleigh.

Kristen Lee has been working at NC State since July of 2012. She currently advises women’s tennis and cheerleading. She also serves as the Academic Skills Enhancement Program Coordinator. Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in exercise science in 2010 and competed on the track and field team. She received her master’s in athletic administration from Indiana in 2011 while completing her eligibility.  After graduating in May 2011, Kristen worked at Norfolk State University as an assistant academic coordinator for softball, baseball, and football. She is a certified member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A). Kristen married her husband Chris in May 2014 and the couple have two sons, Jedediah and Elijah. The family resides in Wendell.

Emily Clinkhammer, assistant director/learning specialist, has been at NC State since August 2014. Her responsibilities include working with a caseload of student-athletes, managing the mentor program, coordinating educational testing, and acting as the liaison to NC State’s Disability Services Office.  Emily attended Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, where she was a 4-year member of the swimming and diving team and a 2005 All-American on 1 meter and 3 meter diving. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in mathematics. After spending 2 years as a diving coach at Union College, Emily attended Syracuse University and received an M.S. in higher education administration in 2012.  Emily comes to NC State from Virginia Tech, where she worked as a learning specialist from 2012-2014. She currently resides in Raleigh.

Lauren Nogle, learning specialist, has been working at NC State since January 2015. Her responsibilities include working with a caseload of student-athletes, coordinating the mentor program, and overseeing external communications. She graduated magna cum laude from UNC Wilmington in 2012 with degrees in English and secondary education. She received her M.A. in English rhetoric and composition from NC State in 2014. While in graduate school, Lauren worked as a tutor and a mentor with ASPSA. She was also a feature twirler for NC State. Prior to her current position, Lauren taught English at Campbell University. She grew up in Florida and California and enjoys going to the beach and hiking. She married her husband, Bryce in June 2017 and they welcomed their daughter, Kinsley in May 2019. The family resides in Raleigh.

richard winters

Richard Winters, learning specialist, joined NC State in August of 2017. His responsibilities include working with a caseload of student-athletes and coordinating the mentor program. Richard attended Michigan State University, graduating with a B.A. in communication in 2006. He attended Eastern Michigan University for his post-B.A. teaching certification, and taught elementary and middle school math from 2009-2013. He earned his M.A. in educational studies from the University of Michigan in 2014 while working as a mentor in the Academic Support Program for Michigan Athletics. Richard comes from Indiana University, where he worked as a learning specialist from 2014-2017.

Erin McGovern

Erin McGovern, academic coordinator, started working at NC State in July of 2019. She currently advises wrestling, gymnastics, and men’s golf. Prior to starting as an academic coordinator, Erin worked with ASPSA as an assistant academic coordinator for the 2018-2019 school year where she worked primarily with football. Erin attended Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia where she studied Biology and was a four-year member of the track and field team. After finishing her undergraduate degree Erin attended Virginia Tech where she received her M.A.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Erin is originally from Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

 Adam Hubbard

Adam Hubbard, eligibility coordinator, returned to NC State in October 2016, having previously served as an assistant academic coordinator with ASPSA in 2010-2011.  He currently oversees the continuing eligibility and admissions for incoming student-athletes.  Prior to returning to ASPSA, Adam served as the assistant director of compliance for eligibility at Florida International University from 2015-2016, and as an academic advisor at the University of Central Florida from 2011-2015 where he worked with the football, men’s soccer, men’s golf, and rowing programs in his 4 1/2 years there.  He is a graduate of UNC Greensboro with his bachelor’s in commercial recreation, and from the University of Tennessee with his master’s in sports management.  Adam is a native of Asheville, NC and currently resides in Fuquay Varina with his wife, Anne.

Matt Taiman

Matt Taiman joined the NC State community in June of 2019 as an Assistant Academic Coordinator, primarily working with football.  Prior to NC State, Matt worked at Virginia Military Institute in the Cadet-Athlete Development Office, where he served as an Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Services for a year. Matt is a graduate of Springfield College, where he earned both a B.S. in Physical and Health Education, followed by a M.Ed. in Athletic Administration. As a graduate student, Matt served for AmeriCorps VISTA for 2 years, assisting students at an underprivileged inner-city school in Springfield, MA. Matt also was a Graduate Assistant Coach for Springfield Men’s Basketball, which included a run to the Division III Final 4 in 2018.  Matt was born and raised in Connecticut.

McHale Perkins

McHale Perkins started working at NC State in June 2019 as an Assistant Academic Coordinator working primarily with football. Prior to NC State, she worked as an Assistant Academic Coordinator at the University of South Florida with the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

McHale is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, where she was a four-year member of the SJU Women’s Soccer team.  She graduated in 2015 with a degree in Psychology. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to England to pursue her master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology as well as continue to play soccer.

Originally from New Hampshire, McHale enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends.

Betsy Baker

Besty Baker, executive assistant to the assistant dean and director, joined ASPSA in November 2015. Prior to joining ASPSA, she worked at UNC General Administration and NC Disability Determination Services. Betsy is a native of Eastern NC and earned her undergraduate degree in English from NC State. She currently resides in Raleigh with her husband, Nathan.

Muriel Hood has been working at NC State in Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes since October of 2004. She currently oversees the hiring and payroll process for all employees and also administrative and accounting duties for the department. Muriel also assists with the Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund as well as supervising student employees.  Muriel is originally from Jefferson, SC and attended North Carolina Central University where she majored in mass communications.
